Sono molto contenta che i piccoli stiano entrambi benone anche se me n'ero già accorta, ma ora è ufficiale.
Mi fa piacere che uno si chiami Swoop, nome che avevo votato.
Vanna, dopo un banding, non ho mai visto una mamma che non sia arrivata immediatamente a controllare la prole! :D

Scout, a female peregrine falcon, was found dead on Broad Street Downtown.
A mother peregrine falcon found dead on Broad Street last week might have been done in by a worker wielding a broom atop the LeVeque Tower.
State and federal wildlife officials are investigating reports from at least one eyewitness to a supposed confrontation played out near the top of the 555-foot-tall skyscraper.
"The death of Scout is under investigation after we received some information from several people," confirmed Kandy Klosterman, law-enforcement supervisor with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' Division of Wildlife.
Because peregrines are a protected species under Ohio and federal law, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is assisting in the investigation, she said.

grazie passera, il tempo e' tiranno, ho ricevuto l'alert ma volevo capire. si sospetta che sia stata uccisa e non che sia stato un incidente... inoltre e' ancora un periodo in cui i suoi piccoli potrebbero aver avuto bisogno del suo sostegno e del suo insegnamento.

Il possibile crimine che ha provocato la morte di Scout non è stato dimenticato. Si continua ad investigare, ma sembra che anche in Ohio gli intoppi burocratici non siano di poco conto.
Vorrei che almeno le fosse resa giustizia.

I know some folks are frustrated with the time it is taking (we continue to get inquiries for updates from the media as well) but with any investigation, there are certain protocols that law enforcement must follow in order to gather all of the facts and information and submit their findings to prosecuting agencies (if warranted). Perhaps with the popularity of crime shows on TV people get lulled into the false sense that a crime can be committed, investigated and the bad guy caught and prosecuted all within an hour’s time? In reality it can take days, weeks, months and even longer to gather evidence and facts, interview all involved, etc. while working on other cases at the same time.
This particular investigation involves multiple agencies and falls under multiple court jurisdictions so that further complicates matters. Above all else it is extremely important for the investigating agents to proceed within certain protocol otherwise they run the risk of a technicality potentially negatively impacting a case.
Through all of this I am not implying in any way which way the investigation is going or not—my comments are simply an effort to point out generalities and explain how the legal system works in an attempt to provide the big picture. Know that all agencies involved take this matter very seriously and are pursuing the matter fully and to the best ability possible. Unfortunately it just takes time.
On the lack of responses from others - I do know that a council member called in to our office and spoke with one of our law enforcement officers about the matter and I know that a response to a letter sent to the governor was being worked on so I hope that this indicates all who wrote letters will eventually be responded to...but maybe just not as quickly as the senders would prefer. That is speculation on my part as I cannot speak for other entities.
Once the investigation is settled the outcome will be made public. Unfortunately there is no way to estimate when that will happen since multiple agencies and jurisdictions are involved. We certainly appreciate everyone’s patience but these things do take time and progress must be undertaken in a very systematic way.

speriamo che trovino quello schifo di uomo, ma si può fare una cosa simile?
vedo che da noi stanno facendo molto a difesa degli animali, meno male, era ora!
anche quei poveri cavalli del Palio, quante sofferenze per arrivare a quella corsa.....ora indagano, certo chi ha interessi di altro genere farà la guerra, ma spero che riescano a togliere tutti quei tipi di manifestazioni a spese degli animali......multe anche di più, pene serie.... :evil: .
