Falchi pellegrini a San Jose City Hall (STREAMING) 2007

FALCON FORAY ON SUNDAYTHE 21ST: Some of our SF pals are heading down San Jose way on Sunday, midafternoon to dusk, to see if we can find Carlos and manage to read his band. The intrepid SF Canyoneers managed this feat from goodness knows how many stories down in SF, after multiple efforts, with perserverance and good scopes and binoculars. We will set a time to meet on the 4th street garage; Kate's bringing the walkie-talkies; and we'll see how far we get in locating and identifying Carlos.
The birds have been very active around City Hall so I'm sure they'll make an appearance. Details to follow.
Thank you, SF!!!!

17Oct. '07 (3:30 PM or so)Michele, my office admin and colleague, notifies me of falcons flying far out near the foothills of East San Jose. First we thought there was one, then two, then she saw 3!!! Another territorial chase going on -- I was wondering why the birds were so far away!

FALCON18 Oct. '07 (Thur. 8.20p) Only time for a 'drive-by'.
The half-moon hangs in the heavens and Carlos hangs on the 'decorative piece' at the Marriott~
- Last evening was the trifecta of terrible traffic.
There were 'doings' at the Convention Center, Civic Auditorium and the Performing Arts Center.
Traffic was at a near stand still. The 'creeping along' and no available parking made for difficult peregrine watching.
7.30p and Carlos was very accomodating by arriving at his nightly roost - life is good! - Kate

Falcon19 Oct. '07 (Fri. eve) A warm autumn eve - the moon playing peek-a-boo in a gorgeous, parlty cloudy sky. The western grey clouds reflecting a most beautiful orange/pink sunset.
- No falcon wanted to be seen. Spent about 10-15 min. looking for 'Taylor', at her end of the city, with nary a glimpse.~ Took the peregrine palaces tour: SJSU; City Hall; AT&T;
11th St (the tree in front of Sigma Nu); etc. with no sightings.
7.10p Carlos must have just landed at his nightly roost -
(the Marriott's decorative piece) he settles in, but not before checking the sky several times, turns a time or two on the decortative piece before settling. I bid him a good, good night and thank him for choosing San Jose.
Falcon Foray on Sunday October 21st at 2 PM -- a few of our esteemed SF colleagues, the famed Canyoneers, are coming down to see if they can assist us in reading Carlos' band. They've got three scopes and I've got mine to contribute to the effort; Kate's got walkie talkies; so we are pretty much ready to go. We'll also check on Taylor at Taylor and First Street.
Anyone who wishes to join us, meet us at the Fourth Street Garage in San Jose at 2 PM. Eyes to the skies and Ever Skyward!!!

19 Oct. '07 -- one of our staff saw two falcons today, but I didn't get the details, unfortunately. I see everyone finding Carlos, but how about any of our other falcon friends??? Evet
