Apparently Bella has been in the nest box during the night.
It could be a good sign for Bella is approaching to lay eggs...
Ernst intends to check the nest box next week.

Thanks very much for posting Ernst's photos, Ferenz.
He must be very encouraged to think that they could use the nest-box straightaway this season

BELLA's FIRST EGG 2012
By Ernst - NABU Borken,
watched through a small peephole of the new nest box.
It is supposed that the egg was laid yesterday or during the night
from march 19 to 20. Exactly the same date as in 2010 & 2011: march 19!

Bocholt
Today Ernst called the verger of Liebfrauenkirche and was told, that he found a broken peregrine egg at the bottom front of the church tower.
The Broken Egg is no longer available.
The verger had disposed it with other waste.
The egg had just looked like the first egg in the photo of 20th march.
Common ravens had been up to the nest box and probably took the egg.
Jackdaws and carrion crows had not been there.
Large ravens recently had been seen more often at Liebfrauenkirche.
It was amazing to discover a nest with four eggs!
If the information of the verger is true,
it appears that we have for the first time in Bocholt a peregrine nest with
five eggs, of which four eggs are still present.
That's fascinating isn't it?

It's very true - I agree with both Ferenz and Gio.
Please thank Ernst very much for the information.

Wow! those are really good weights
I see that this family also has a preference for ringed prey
