A PEREGRINE FALCON was admitted into CRC Rehab on Saturday (only number 34 in the past 30+ years).
This is a really cool bird. He is eating well and fairly calm. He was diagnosed with a relatively simple coracoid fracture. These fractures are not surgically repaired. The wing is immobilized with a figure-8 and body wrap for three weeks and then the wrap is removed and the bird is cage rested for one week. During this time, physical therapy is performed once a week. The patient is normally ready for a larger cage after a month. He should fully recover.
This bird, Patient #16483, was found in Starr, SC in Anderson County.
Egli dovrebbe recuperare pienamente.
