:D I like to share with you the stunning story of the Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Gradisco ripartire con voi la storia sbalorditiva dell'oca egiziana (Alopochen aegyptiacus) in Zwolle, Paesi Bassi.

History Storia
In 1995 they placed a nesting box for Falchi Perregrini at a power plant in Zwolle... In 1995 hanno disposto un nido per deporre le uova per Falchi Perregrini in una centrale elettrica in Zwolle…

...wich is used in winter by migrating Falchi Perregrini. … il è usato nell'inverno migrando Falchi Perregrini.

Since 2003 a Gyr Falcon (Falco rusticolus) showed up at the nesting box... this is an escaped bird and they tried to catch it but gave up (smart bird! ) Dal 2003 un Gyr Falcon(Falco rusticolus ) rivelato al nido… questo è un uccello fuoriuscito ed hanno provato ad interferirli ma hanno dato in su (uccello astuto! )



That Gyr Falcon chases away all Falchi Perregrini and prevents them to breed in the nesting box...
(Gyr Falcons do not inhabit the Netherlands...so this one will stay single and therefore can't breed...) Che il Gyr Falcon insegue via tutto il Falchi Perregrini e li impedisce per allevare nel nido per deporre le uova… (Gyr Falcon non abitare i Paesi Bassi… in modo da questo rimarrà singolo e quindi non può allevare…)

In 2004 a pair of Oca Egiziana (Egyptian Goose - Alopochen aegyptiacus) claimed the nesting box. Anno 2004 un accoppiamento di Oca Egiziana (Alopochen aegyptiacus) ha esatto il nido per deporre le uova.

Though the Gyr Falcon was still around and could be seen in the nesting box too :shock: , the female goose laid some eggs. Benchè il Gyr Falcon sia ancora intorno e potrebbe essere visto nel nido ugualmente :shock: , l'oca femminile ha fatto alcune uova.

Unfortunately several other Egyptian Goose females thought this nesting box a very good place to lay their eggs at the same time... and this ended in a total of 22 eggs ! :shock: Purtroppo parecchie altre femmine dell'Oca Egiziana hanno pensato che questo nido un posto molto buon per fare le loro uova allo stesso tempo… e questo concludessero in un totale di 22 uova ! :shock:

No need to tell none hatched... Nessuna necessità non ne di dire a ha covato…
(sorry no images... all were lost when my old computer crashed...) ( nessun'immagine… tutta è stata persa quando il mio computer si è arrestato...)

In 2005 the Gyr Falcon was still around and chasing away the Perregrini. Anno 2005 il Gyr Falcon aveva luogo ancora intorno ed inseguendo via il Perregrini.

But the Oca Egiziana claimed the nesting box again! Ma l'Oca Egiziana ha esatto ancora il nido per deporre le uova!

Like the previous year, several goose females laid their eggs... a total of 16... ( 1 egg broke) Come l'anno precedente, parecchie femmine dell'oca hanno fatto le loro uova… un totale di 16 … (1 uovo si è rotto)

...it's difficult to incubate 15 eggs... …è difficile da incubare 15 uova…


18 May: the eggs should have hatched long ago... 18 maggio: le uova dovrebbero covare lungamente fa…

...and the male goose stopped defending the eggs... ...e l'oca maschio ha smesso di difendere le uova...

...while the female was out to eat and drink, a Crow (Corvus corone) came and ate some of the eggs... ...mentre la femmina era fuori mangiare e bere, un corvo (Corvus corone ) è venuto mangiare alcune delle uova...



6 June: the female stops incubating... 6 giugno: la femmina smette di incubare...



...the last remains taken off by an Oca Egiziana ...l'ultimo ha tolto da un'Oca Egiziana

In 2006 the Gyr Falcon was still around and often seen on the webcam. Anno 2006 il Gyr Falcon ancora è stato visto intorno e spesso sul webcam.

And like in previous years, the Oca Egiziana claimed the nesting box! But the Gyr Falcon did not give up... E come durante gli anni precedenti, l'Oca Egiziana ha esatto il nido per deporre le uova! Ma il Gyr Falcon non ha dato in su...


On 10 April several goose females had laid 16 eggs... again! Il 10 aprile parecchie femmine dell'oca avevano fatto ancora 16 uova…!
But this time one pair of Oca Egiziana was very faithful to their eggs, and on 17 May the first hatched. On 18 May there were 7 healthy goslings... :D Ma questo volta un accoppiamento di Oca Egiziana era molto fedele alle loro uova e il 17 maggio al in primo luogo covato. Il 18 maggio ci erano 7 pulli sane...

Now what? Those goslings need food and water :shock: they can't stay in the nesting box... Ora che cosa? Alimento ed acqua di bisogno di quelle pulli :shock: non possono rimanere nel nido...

On 18 May the 7 goslings had to jump 50 meters down, to be guided to the water by an adult... Il 18 maggio le 7 pulli hanno dovuto saltare 50 tester giù, per essere guidato all'acqua da un adulto...


:D ...6 goslings made it... the 7th disappeared and was never found... 6 pulli sono sopravvissuto… settimo sparito e mai non sono state trovate...

...and took the fluff out! :shock: ...ed ha eliminato la lanugine!

...aaaaah...but now we can see six eggs! ...ma ora possiamo vedere sei uova!

...and the Gyr Falcon wonders what to do with that fluff ... Il Gyr Falcon si domanda che cosa fare con quella lanugine

Only the female Oca Egiziana incubates the eggs... what will Mother Goose do now? The Gyr Falcon took away that nice fluffy blanket... will Mother Goose have enough downy fluff to make a new one? Soltanto la femmina l'Oca Egiziana incuba le uova... che cosa Madre Oca ora farà? Il Gyr Falcon ha tolto quella coperta lanuginosa piacevole... Madre Oca ha abbastanza lanugine lanuginosa per fare un nuovo?

10 March: Mother Goose keeping her eggs warm... 10 marzo: Madre Oca che mantiene le sue uova scalda...

...and busy...

...and when she was out to eat and drink we saw this... ...e quando era fuori mangiare e bere abbiamo visto questo...

...yes!... 7 eggs and a new fluffy blanket! ...sì! … 7 uova e una nuova coperta lanuginosa!


11 March: more fluff... but did she lay another egg today? 11 marzo: più lanugine… ma lei fa un altro uovo oggi?




12 March: Mother Goose has been very busy... you can see more fluff... 12 marzo: Madre Oca è stata molto occupata… voi può vedere più lanugine...

...and some more fluff... ...ed un po'più di lanugine...

...and now 8? eggs... and a lot of fluff! 8) ...ed ora 8? uova… e lanugine molto!


13 March: Mother Goose like a Queen... 13 marzo: Madre Oca gradisce una regina...


14 March: just before sunrise she leaves to eat and drink... 14 marzo: appena prima l'alba va per mangiare e bere...

... :shock: that's a whole lot of fluff! we can't see the eggs anymore... ... :shock: quello è un lotto intero di lanugine! non possiamo vedere le uova più...

16 March:...there was a lot of strong wind...look what happened to that fluff... 16 marzo: … ci era sguardo forte molto del vento… che cosa è accaduto a quella lanugine...






... :shock: oooooh...it almost blew away... ... :shock: oooooh… che quasi ha saltato via...

...but Mother Goose came back and took it inside the box again... ...ma Madre Oca ha ritornato ancora e lo preso all'interno della scatola...

...but she didn't want us to look at her any more... ...ma non li ha desiderati guardarli altro...


17 March:...where is the fluff????? 17 marzo: … dove è la lanugine?????

...ah there it is...and look how nice she arranged the 8 eggs! ...ah là è… e sguardo quanto piacevole ha organizzato le 8 uova!


18 March: all the fluff seems to be gone now... 18 marzo: tutta la lanugine sembra ora essere andata...

...but Mother Goose keeps her eggs warm and safe... ...ma Madre Oca mantiene le sue uova calda e la cassaforte...


...later the Gyr Falcon came with food... ...più successivamente il Gyr Falcon è venuto con alimento...

...but Mother Goose doesn't like it and tells the Gyr falcon to take it away! ...ma Madre Oca non lo gradisce e non dice al Gyr Falcon di eliminarla!


21 March: ...all is well and Mother Goose incubates faithfully... 21 marzo: ...tutto è buono e Madre Oca incuba fedelmente...

23 March: ... a visitor came... another Oca Egiziana... 23 marzo: ...un ospite è venuto… un'altra Oca Egiziana...





25 March: ...all is well and Mother Goose goes out for breakfast... 25 marzo: ...tutto è buono e Madre Oca esce per la prima colazione...



29 March: ... early morning we can see 8 eggs... 29 marzo: ...mattina in anticipo possiamo vedere 8 uova ...


...later :shock: another Oca Egiziana in the nesting box!!!! ...più successivamente :shock: un'altra Oca Egiziana nel nido per deporre le uova!!!!



...and that other Oca Egiziana laid an egg :shock: ... so now there are 9 eggs! ...e che l'altra Oca Egiziana ha fatto un uovo :shock: … così ora ci sono 9 uova !


...but Mother Goose added it to her clutch and incubates... ...ma Madre Oca lo ha aggiunto alla sua frizione ed incuba...



31 March: ... another visitor came that day... 31 marzo : … un altro ospite è venuto quel giorno...

...and visited the nesting box... ...e visitato il nido per deporre le uova...

...yes... you are right! That was a Gheppi 8) ... sì… Quella era il Gheppi 8)

1 April; all eggs are okay... 1 aprile ; tutte le uova sono giuste...
