Ieri sera sul tardi sono passata un momento sul forum e ho visto il post di Harvey Webster, direttore del Museo di Scienze Naturali (CMNH) cui fanno capo le cams.
Oggi è sulla home page.
Non perché dubitassi della sua morte, ma adesso c'è l'evidenza della prova e nessuno può più pensare sia dispersa chissà dove.
Un falco come lei difende il suo nido fino alla morte, non scappa. Scappare lei?? Idea assurda e offensiva.
Lo riporto anche qui e sono contenta che, malgrado la fatica, tu abbia potuto imparare tanto sulla storia del nido della Terminal Tower.
Voglio sperare che la collisione contro un edificio che risulta a un primo esame (naturalmente provocata da una lotta) sia stata immediatamente o almeno rapidamente letale. Se sia stata Newton o un altro falco quella che ha ingaggiato il breve duello, breve perché nessuno se n'è accorto, non lo sapremo mai.
Un giorno ha vinto e conquistato quel nido in un'epica battaglia uccidendo Zenith per proteggere le proprie uova, 13 anni dopo lo ha perso con la sua stessa vita.
E in fondo questo è tutto. Ma in mezzo ci sta un tempo lungo intessuto d'affetto per coloro che l'hanno seguita.
Il resto è ormai leggenda.
SW found but deceased.
As has been surmised by her absence for the last two months, SW is dead. Her mummified body was found on an expanse of roof between the Leader Bldg and the side of the Arcade and brought to my attention by Dyann Davison from the Carlyle Development Group. I retrieved her remains and brought them to the Museum.Given the state of deterioration of the body, it will be difficult to ascertain the cause of death. Laurie Graber and Jennifer Norris from ODOW have been notified and will file the band information.
Though we might suppose Newton and SW engaged in an epic duel ending with SW's hitting a building and coming to rest on the lone expanse of roof, it is also possible that there was a skirmish with the Bohn Building pair. The Leader Bldg. is very close to the 5th 3rd Building where I recovered Ranger some years back and could be the boundary between these two territories.
I will post photos at a later time.
