Dyfi Osprey Project

The fiesty Dyfi Trio...
https://video-fra3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hvide ... e=55770E3AAggression behaviour is much more common with three ospreys chicks compared to when there are two in the nest. (Press HD) Things to note:
1. This is completely normal behaviour and injuries are rare within a healthy clutch.
2. Disputes generally last from a few seconds to a few minutes.
3. The parents will let the chicks get on with it - no point intervening.
4. During the last minute of the video - turn the sound up. Can you hear the soft calls made by the fighting chicks?
5. All the Bobs got enough to eat while making this video.

Dyfi Osprey Project - 3. Juli um 04:25 ·
We're delighted to say that all three chicks have been ringed and they all looked in absolutely perfect condition.
Bobby Bach is a male (Blue W3) - we'll now call him 'Brenig'
Bob 2 is a female (Blue W2) - she is called 'Celyn'
Bob 1 is a female (we think! - see blog tomorrow) Blue W1 - She is called 'Merin'
The three chicks were out of the nest for 44 minutes in total and everything went very smoothly - thanks again to our friend and ringer extraordinaire, Tony Cross.

They are currently on the tall mast by Dyfi Junction station - seems to be a favourite perch for young fledglings.
