Lola spent all evening on her nest. She left and returned almost instantly when I took my eyes away for a moment. I saw two hawks fighting closeby but never saw Palemale making any visit when I was there until dark.

Lola spent a part of her evening break on the Beresford SE tower. Sometime later she was seen on the Carlyle Hotel and from there she went directly back to her nest where she remained for the night. I searched for Palemale's night roost from the Eastside to the Westside and all the in between places this evening, but without luck.

Aggiornamento più breve e veloce di quanto vorrei.
Quest'anno PM&Lola non hanno prodotto uova, malgrado l'accuratissimo mantenimento del nido, i molti accoppiamenti e l'evidente tenerezza reciproca. Però sono nonni: uno dei loro figli degli scorsi anni (sarò più precisa appena possibile) e la sua compagna ne hanno :!: :D
Ecco ancora una volta la coppia più bella di NYC: non indaghiamo oltre le loro intime confidenze.. Lola telling Palemale that everything is going to be OK.
Although there may not be as much happiness, there is still something to learn from this empty nest. Had there been little white fuzzy heads peeping and bobbing about right now the city would be still celebrating, however the lack of those little white fuzzy heads presently makes me even more conscious of my doings on this planet and perhaps this is what Nature wants to remind us. Tutti coloro che stimano ed amano Lincoln gli mandino una mail di incoraggiamento! Non deve mollare, no. Deve sapere che in ogni parte del mondo il suo lavoro è tenuto in altissima considerazione. Ci sono questioni di denaro e di indifferenza a NY, non ho capito tutto, ma non importa. Importa che sappia che abbiamo tutti bisogno di uno come lui.
Per chi ha problemi con l'inglese basta scrivere "Lincoln, please, don't give up! We need you."

It has been three weeks now since I asked Chris Naredesky (NYC biologist--the only person apparently who has the authority) to examine the eggs. I also made the request through Dr. Ward Stone so that it could be more legitimate coming from him. I followed up as much as I could without being a bother but so far nothing has been done. They must have a dozen reasons and/or scientific gibberish why they haven’t done anything thus far.
As far as the building is concern, there must be a lot of cold hearts going to sleep inside those concrete walls every night. Not a single person with all their millions and billions made any effort to do anything to help. No one even said they’re sorry.
I'm surprised no one did anything to stop me from photographing this nest as often as I do. There must be a law against this amount of photography--'illegal surveillance' perhaps.
At this point I wish they all stay away from these hawks and let them fail for the rest of their days if they have to. I curse the day I did anything to help get that nest back--though I hated that ridiculous structure from the first time I saw it.
Palemale and Lola may now have been happily reproducing somewhere out in Queens or New Jersey somewhere.
I am willing to spend many more years watching them try to succeed, but what I cannot put up with any longer is the human voices around me. I try to run and hide from it but they hit me from every angle; the wrinkled old woman with her tuxedo-clad husband strolling down from the boathouse after their fancy dinner who said that Palemale may need some Viagra--followed by chuckles from the Hawk Bench. Not just that but the poisoning of the rats, the harassing of the Canada geese.
The releasing of balloons at parades, the fireworks, the carriage horses--all perfectly normal activities it seems but these things have taken an unhealthy toll on me.
On Sunday afternoon I found myself arguing with three mounted cops inside the park. I let them know how I felt about using these poor animals especially in these times for that kind of work. Of course that’s crazy--Police should always have horses--that’s why God put horses on this Earth.
I also have to understand that squirrels are allowed to live in Central Park to entertain dog owners. Ducks are in ponds for toy boats to run over. Perhaps Palemale & Lola should be in a big flight cage in the Central Park Zoo so people won’t have to sit for hours to catch a tiny glimpse of them.
Getting warm letters from kind-hearted people always gives me the encouragement to go on, but then I get a letter from a man for example asking me why I cannot get a helicopter to look into the nest to see how many eggs are there. From another person, a woman, almost scolded me for not installing a 'webcam' on the nest.
I honestly do not think I can continue what I do for much longer. It is true I get a lot of mental support from people at home and around the world but unfortunately I have neglected a great many things over the past few years that makes carrying on like this very difficult. I will try to continue as long as I could but please know that this site’s days are numbered.

fatto col cuore, Pale Male e Lola sono induscutibili ma Lincoln e' specialissimo una persona che merita tutto il cuore possibile... per chi non lo conosce bene vi invito a leggere nel forum dello scorso anno i puoi pensieri, le sue foto parlano gia' da se' ma quel che ci aggiunge e' sublime. Non potete perdervi una persona cosi' . Lui e' tanto speciale quanto il suo pallido falco dalla coda rossa, entrambi di una bellezza mozzafiato.........
