In effetti c'è parecchio da sbirciare.. anche se spesso le cam non fanno vedere niente perché Only-U va a spasso per il ledge e si spinge sempre più lontano, sicuramente sotto l'attenta sorveglianza di mamma e papà.



Bat-Stefania, di sicuro ti sei fatta una cultura su questo nido..

Nell'ultima Only-U sembra chiedere a SW:
- Mom, do I look terribly fierce, isn't it?
- Well, girlie.. of course you are.. (oh my, she's absolutely hilarious! She always makes my day with a good laugh!)

Se, come è accaduto ultimamente, si presentano delle difficoltà, è opportuno contattare uno degli admin per chiarimenti.
Chi è abituato a frequentare determinati forum non immagina che ci siano problemi, quindi si limita a presentare in sintesi il nido in questione con relativo link all'inizio di ogni anno.

Nelle ultime foto prese al nido da Scott Wright compare finalmente Boomer accanto alla figlia. Ma come lei si avvicina per chiedergli qualcosa, papà prende il volo lasciandola con un palmo di becco.
Naturalmente mamma è lì vicino, splendida e regale come sempre.
Only-U è nella fase "tacchino bruttarello", ma presto, molto in fretta, si trasformerà in una falchetta forse affascinante come sua madre.
Vedremo.

Eddai, Dani! I falchi non hanno di queste fisime!
Alle foto naturalmente manca il sonoro e chissà con quali urla si sarà avvicinata a Boom per chiedergli cibo col tipico begging dei piccoli!
Però è vero che sembra esserci rimasta male.

Del resto è stato notato da me - ma anche da altri - che soltanto SW si incarica di nutrire la figlia.
Pare che lo stesso sia accaduto con Ranger, ma devo controllare.
Forse, mentre di Buckeye si fidava tranquillamente, preferisce ora che alcune cure siano affidate a lei sola. La cosa mi incuriosisce molto, tanto più che nel 2010 e nel 2011 c'erano 3 pulcini da sfamare.
Con Buckeye è documentato che a volte nutrivano insieme i loro piccoli, il che non è usuale, di solito si alternano.
Allora, forse, sottolineo forse, lei si ricorda ancora di lui... illazione esageratamente romantica, lo ammetto.

Chris mi dice che spesso il padre interviene ad imboccare i figli quando sono grandicelli.
Però non ho mai visto quest'anno. Del resto non è mai uguale.

Giunta poco fa la notizia che Only-U si è involata ed è stata recuperata, sta bene ma aspettiamo altre notizie.
Non vorrei pensare a come si sente SW..
E' successo durante il we e oggi è già martedì.

Chris ha appena postato, domani riassumo e spero di avere foto.
Comunque è tornata a casa già oggi e sua madre le ha subito dato da mangiare.





First of all, rest assured that all is fine with Uno. I think everyone has had to piece the story together, and so no one has it all put together at this point. Here's what I know:

I was at the CC banding today and Jenny and Laurie said they were thinking of going to Penn Glen afterward to check on Uno and to see if she could be taken back to the TT as soon as possible. They were pretty sure she wasn't injured, so I volunteered to meet DOW at the TT after they picked up Uno so that I could help them with the particulars of getting up to the Greenbriar if Scott was unavailable. Scott so willingly and thoroughly showed us "the ropes" at the TT the year that Scott was dealing with some health issues and Chad and I stood in for him as monitors (thanks for that again, Scott), so we were able to get access without a hitch. DOW does have your number, Scott, but just didn't have it on them, so that's how I ended up calling you instead. Anyway, Penn Glen found no signs/symptoms of injury with Uno, so it was a go.

Don't know the details as to how she ended up down. All I know is that it was sometime over Memorial Weekend and the person who found her didn't know what to do, so she was taken to Penn Glen.

So, DOW met me at the TT and we were able to release Uno out of the window by the nest cam set-up (as Scott instructed).

Even though SW was at the tray when I was waiting for DOW to arrive with Uno, neither adult was around by the time Uno was released. It didn't take long, though, and SW came back to the tray as Uno was still on the ledge where the cam is located. Shortly afterward, SW flew across and picked up a cached Woodcock from the ledge and flew it back to give to Uno.

Got some shots that I'll post as soon as I can.

Sorry to Scott for the confusion. The "regulars" there mentioned that you were concerned this morning about not seeing Uno, and I know you did all you could by contacting everyone to let them know.

Glad she's back where she belongs, and hopefully she'll have a better next flight and landing!

Si, meno male!
Certo che hanno un'abilità particolare nell'involarsi malamente durante i we, lì avevano in più il Memorial Day lunedì.

Le prime di SW sono state prese mentre Chris aspettava che riportassero Only-U. Forse è solo una mia impressione, ma la mamma che inizialmente sonnecchia (molto interessante il primo piano che mostra le venature della membrana che ricopre l'occhio) ha un'espressione come di vuoto..
e forse d'attesa.
Poi la ragazzaccia arriva, fa prove d'ali e di voce, chiama (credo meno per fame che per attirare l'attenzione) e SW va nella dispensa per portarle un picchio che in effetti viene appena assaggiato.
C'è anche Boomer verso cui la peste si dirige per dargli il tormento.
Spero tanto che la prossima volta vada meglio!
