Angie, was any eagle owl at home when you catched this img of the fox???
**************************************************************************************
http://egeeulen.de/inhalt/geschichte.php.

Giovanna and all, in january no one has yet seen an owl in the nest.Giovanna ha scritto:...Angie, was any eagle owl at home when you catched this img of the fox???
:D
Stefan Bücher (who band the chicks 2008) from EGE has written to me:
...it happens from time to time that foxes eat Youngowls if the parents out of sight and do not take good care.
But much more often young foxes eat owls. Clashes between old owls and old foxes are mostly in favor of the owls ...
please look also in my thread in Loburg Forum/scroll down and translate it per google ( my english is a little adventure )
greetings from Angie

I saw an Eagle Owl in the nest on 5 January!
Angie, you wrote: "...it happens from time to time that foxes eat Youngowls if the parents out of sight and do not take good care.

Perhaps you mean: But much more often owls eat young foxes?
(Angie, I know it's not easy to traslate in English, but you do it very well!)

Let them be Peregrines in their own peregrine way!
Just watch and learn.

Thank you Angie and Nora!
We all do our best when writing in English, not our own language, but useful to understand eachother.. :D
I also think Angie meant "But much more often owls eat young foxes".
I knoow adult Eagle Owls are deadly predators and cubs are cubs.. Even PF's have to fear that owl...

Nora, thanks for the pics, uploaded on the 5th of january.
I also found these two pics in the archive:
Thank you Giovanna for your words. But to avoid any misunderstandings, here is the original text from Stefan Bücher. Please translate it for yourself:
[/quote]
Junguhus = young owls
I wish all a nice weekend !
Greetings from Angie

Ciao a tutti,
Hi everyone,
Everyone's doing well with their English. As both a mother-tongue English speaker and teacher of English as a Foreign Language, I often tell my students (adults from about 23 and up) that the most important thing is to communicate and get your message across - and that is what has happened. It's great !!
Let's hope that 2009 let's us see lots of nests full of chicks which will fly high and free.
