Barbagianni a San Anselmo, California
April 18 , 2010: These chicks are close to fledging. They've gotten so active inside the box it appears they have caused the screen to become so dirty it's now hard to see anything...once they fledge we'll get the lens cleaned in case the owls start another round of nesting.

These chicks in the process of fledging. We have turned on a camera that is just outside the box.
The camera inside the box has become very dirty from the owl's activity and cannot be cleaned until they leave the box for good.
Meanwhile, one of the fledgling owls ended up on the ground and is at WildCare for evaluation.
There are Great Horned Owls in the neighborhood and they may have launched an attack on the Barn Owls, the Great Horned is a fierce predator of just about any animal up to the size of a skunk!

Ginger (uovo # 1)

Cannella (uovo # 2)

Peppermint (uovo # 3)
9 Aprile 12:00pm-4:00am; nato 10 maggio ore 11-11:30pm
