Well the little one hatched almost 2 days after the first one. It is almost impossible to catch up. When I watched feedings it was so obvious it did not get anything to eat. Heartbreaking. Still can't cope with that.
It has died, probably within 24 hours.
They are fed every 2 hours. If a 24 hour old eyas doesn't get anything 2 feedings, it is over. It will just go to sleep because it gets so tired and die in it's sleep.
It is probably a good thing the cams where down, so we did not have to watch it. I hate this part of avian biology.
