Alex and Vergine’s nest box is on a water tower in Rome, where the Acqua Vergine acqueduct starts. In 2019, a new unringed male entered the scene, Alex II.

Since 2004 Ornis italica, the association of ornithologists running the Birdcam.it project, is in charge of installing and maintaining webcams on the nests of wild birds.
